2009, here I come.
2008 was tough, but as Kanye said, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. When I’m not sitting around in San Antonio waiting for some family to sit down and watch a movie, I’ll hit the highlights, but let’s just say that everything good in 2008 is only going to get better in 2009, so I’m looking forward to it.

John Scofield and Bill Frisell
are my biggest influences as a guitarist right now. Throw them in a blender with Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, and Dexter Gordon and that’s the music I want to make.

It's about time.
From Seth Godin’s Blog:
“The smartest and most motivated young people are no longer itching to become investment bankers and lawyers. We’re always hearing about a shortage of engineers or nurses—but there never seems to be a shortage of people eager to work 90 hours a week helping to move money from one pile to another.

I should add...
I later witnessed history as Lauren killed it on her first vocal take.
K-I-L-L-E-D it.
I admit, I got schooled.
I should practice.
This morning was possibly the most embarrassed/frustrated I’ve been with myself lately when it comes to playing guitar, and Lauren got to witness the whole thing. Some days my fingers just don’t do what they should, and the guitar feels like a foriegn object. That’s when I know it’s time to get back to some basics and eat my humble pie. Turn My Headphone Up - Fisticuffs
Classic Dave Chappelle sketch.
Rough Fingertips
allisonweiss:
I was going to play guitar til the break of dawn, but it seems that my fingers have failed me again. I build ‘em up and I break ‘em down. Bleeding all over my fretboard is really metal, but not really fun.
One time I was holding hands with a boy in a movie theater and I apologized for having rough fingertips. He said it was okay and that he liked them. But I’m pretty sure this was...
